Here are some of the marketplace abuses Elizabeth Warren points out in her historic proposal to BREAK UP big corporate monopolies like Amazon and Facebook. :
- Google favored its own restaurant ratings over those of Yelp.
- Amazon used its immense market power to force smaller competitors like Diapers .com to sell at a discounted rate.
- Facebook purchased competitors Instagram and WhatsApp instead of competing with them and innovating.

All Democratic 2020 candidates should offer bold plans to break up big monopolies. Monopolies are a corruption of the marketplace. Breaking them up is pro-competition, pro-entrepreneur, pro-consumer, and pro-jobs. It turns the Republican "socialism" attack on its head.
Pundits and other Democrats are looking to see if her bold moves will be rewarded by the public. Please make the answer yes.
Warren makes clear that with her proposal to break up monopolies, you will be protected: "You’ll still be able to go on Google and search...You’ll still be able to go on Amazon and find 30 different coffee machines...You’ll still be able to go on Facebook and see how your old friend from school is doing."
Here’s what will change: "Small businesses would have a fair shot to sell their products on Amazon without the fear of Amazon pushing them out of business. Google couldn’t smother competitors by demoting their products on Google Search. Facebook would face real pressure from Instagram and WhatsApp to improve the user experience and protect our privacy."
