PETITION: The 2016 Democratic Party Platform Must Include Popular Progressive Priorities

The 15 Democrats who will draft the 2016 Democratic Platform have begun their work and are holding hearings now.

Progressives have a unique opportunity right now to make sure expanding Social Security and other priorities become the official priorities of the whole Democratic Party as well.

Sign this petition to the 2016 Democratic Platform Drafting Committee:

The Democratic Platform should reflect the many big progressive ideas that have risen to the forefront in recent years -- starting with expanding Social Security benefits, debt-free college, breaking up too-big-to-fail banks and monopolies, a $15 minimum wage, massive infrastructure investment, paid family leave, allowing Americans to buy health insurance through Medicare, restoring voting rights, grand jury reform, banning for-profit prisons and detention centers, ending mass deportations, ending fracking, a carbon tax to fight climate change, greater protections for women's reproductive health, public financing of congressional elections, overturning Citizens United, and ending the revolving door between Wall Street and government.

We will deliver this petition to all 15 members of the drafting committee, including those nominated by Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and the Democratic National Committee.
