P Street: Senior Legislative Strategist

SENIOR LEGISLATIVE STRATEGIST

P Street, the progressive alternative to K Street and sister organization to the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, seeks a senior member of our government relations team to engage allies in  Congress and the executive branch to build strategies that move bold progressive ideas into law.

We call this work “lobbying-organizing” because we apply an organizer’s ethos to our relationships -- not just advocating for policies, but building win-win partnerships and strategies We advocate on behalf of working families, not big corporations or special interests, and serve as a force multiplier for work happening throughout the progressive movement.

This senior position is a great opportunity for people with government experience and strategic minds who have seen great strategic plays get bottled up -- by conservative thinking, by overly-siloed focus, or a lack of tools to run effective plays. On a given week, we engage the Biden-Harris Administration, top Senate and House leadership offices, other congressional offices across the political spectrum, think tanks, grassroots allies, media, and pundits. The Progressive Change Campaign Committee  also engages candidates and emails thousands of constituents in every state, providing extra tools for legislative strategy. Our other sister organization, the Progressive Change Institute, does polling and other activities that help influence the public debate.

If you are strategic, nimble, at your best when you have many arrows in your quiver, and want a broad lane to maneuver, we encourage you to apply.
