Congressman Steny Hoyer, was quoted in The Hill yesterday saying that cuts to Social Security and Medicare are "on the table" as part of deficit reduction talks.
Nov 6th was a mandate for progressive policy -- not for cuts to benefits. Hoyer's statements add credence to Republican proposals, which would only hurt seniors and working families.
We need to make sure Rep. Hoyer knows that the American people rejected the idea of cuts to Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid -- and they should not be on the table.
