As voters prepare to vote in the August 14th congressional primary in Connecticut's 5th district, they deserve to know the facts about Dan Roberti.

TOP FOUR THINGS TO KNOW ABOUT DAN ROBERTI

  1. Dan Roberti is the 1% and is trying to buy this election. Last month, he donated more than $800,000 of his own money to his campaign.
  2. Dan Roberti has close ties to a huge special-interest lobbying firm. With his father Vin, Dan Roberti owns one of the "most powerful" lobbying groups in the country that has worked for groups like AT&T and Citigroup.
  3. Dan Roberti is the poster child for what's wrong with the Citizens United decision. His father and his out-of-state lobbyist friends maxed out to Roberti's campaign. Then they set up a SuperPAC which can accept unlimited, secret contributions. In the last month, that SuperPAC has spent more than $400,000 on ads attacking Roberti's opponents.
  4. Dan Roberti has no experience and no record of supporting progressive issues. The Torrington Register Citizen reports that Roberti "has no work history or record of public service in the state of Connecticut, no voting record, no real qualifications."
