Donald Trump wants artificial intelligence to be able to conduct World War III without human control. Congress must take action to prevent this NOW.

In the 24 hours before Trump’s illegal war, he and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth were obsessed with trying to coerce an AI company into allowing the military to remove safeguards so it could deploy "fully autonomous weapons." Human Rights Watch warns that these systems "would be able to select and engage targets without meaningful human control."

The New York Times reports there is no clear legal framework governing AI in combat -- just Trump and private corporations making up rules by themselves. Reuters reports that the Iran strike marked "the first known combat use of AI tools," including for target identification.

Artificial intelligence should not decide who lives and who dies. Pass a law immediately banning autonomous AI-controlled weapons and requiring human control over life-or-death military decisions.
