Yesterday, environmentalists all over Maine endorsed Shenna Bellows for U.S. Senate in an open letter.
According to the LCV scorecard, Senator Susan Collins voted for the Keystone XL pipeline, against clean energy tax incentives, and against water protections. It's clear Shenna is the pro-environment candidate.

Letter endorsing Shenna Bellows
We, the undersigned, proudly endorse Shenna Bellows for the United States Senate. The 2014 Senate election is about the future. What sort of world will we leave to our children and grandchildren?
We believe climate change is one of the most serious threats we face as a state, a nation and a planet. We need bold and urgent action to confront climate change before it’s too late. We need leaders in Washington, like Shenna Bellows, who understand the magnitude of the threat we face and have the courage and vision to advance positive change. Shenna Bellows has demonstrated her commitment to climate change policy with her principled statements against the Keystone XL Pipeline. She has championed the new Environmental Protection Agency standards regulating emissions by coal-‐fired power plants. She is a strong supporter of clean energy policies. She speaks about environmental protection with courage and passion, grounded in a thorough understanding of science. Some might say that solving climate change is impossible, but it’s too important not to try, and we cannot wait.
Democratic Senator Ed Muskie’s leadership on the environment left a lasting legacy for Maine and the nation. Landmark legislation like the Clean Air Act of 1970 and the Clean Water Act of 1972 created a healthier, safer world for the generations to come. Unfortunately, in the last two decades, we have experienced a growing environmental crisis, and Congress has failed to lead us forward. Democratic U.S. Senate Candidate Shenna Bellows is a leader who will lead with vision and principle in the tradition of Senator Muskie. She has a distinguished record in changing hearts and minds to advance meaningful civil rights and civil liberties reform. We need her energy and her leadership in the United States Senate. She has our full support, and we hope she will have yours as well.
