Chris Donovan has spent his life fighting and winning for progressives -- passing Connecticut's first millionaire's tax, raising the minimum wage 12 times, and getting corporate money out of state politics.

Chris Donovan is the clear progressive choice in the election on Tuesday, August 14th.

Daily Kos founder Markos Moulitsas: "I doubt there's anyone running for Congress this year that has tangibly done as much to advance a progressive agenda as Donovan." Markos spelled out those accomplishments:

  • Passed 12 minimum wage increases and wants further hikes
  • Established Connecticut's first-ever progressive income tax, which required millionaires to pay their fair share
  • Closed a huge budget deficit last year without any layoffs of state workers
  • Made Connecticut the first state to pass paid sick-leave legislation
  • Instituted a state-level version of the DREAM Act
  • Added transgender rights to state's anti-discrimination law
  • Legalized medical marijuana and decriminalized marijuana possession
  • Repealed the state's death penalty law

The Nation: "Donovan is a much more progressive candidate than [Elizabeth] Esty."

State Rep. Mae Flexer, 44th Assembly District: Chris Donovan has "been a tremendous leader for women throughout the state of Connecticut for 20 years."

State Rep. Matthew Lesser, 100th Assembly District: "Chris led the fight for a progressive budget that preserved services for the middle class by passing the state's first millionaire's tax. He won this fight...We need more progressive fighters in Congress like Chris Donovan."

Lori Pelletier, secretary-treasurer of Connecticut AFL-CIO: "As far as we’re concerned Chris Donovan is the strongest candidate. He has stood up for 20 years."

Chris Donovan is endorsed by: Connecticut Democratic Party, Progressive Change Campaign Committee, AFL-CIO, SEIU, Connecticut teachers, MoveOn, Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, Comptroller Kevin Lembo, former 5th CD Congressman Jim Maloney, Simsbury First Selectman Mary Glassman, Southbury First Selectman Ed Edelson, Connecticut Citizen Action Group, Connecticut police and firefighters, and dozens of other local leaders, community groups, and labor unions.
